Where the HELL is my Vin # on trailer!

 Foresters built before the 70s this is the place to look for your vin.

Thank God for my friends on the Forester page on facebook. I searched all over looked on google, blogs, Youtube with no luck.
They helped me find my Vin. 
So on my 1968 Forester the Vin can be found on the curbside (passenger side) on top of hitch by the chain. Hitch was painted over many times so I had to get out a wire brush and go to work. I found it!
And lucky me it matched my title. I should have checked that BEFORE I bought trailer.
 I have been so damn lucky with this trailer. 
So I have learned a lot about Forester Vin #s. the 1st # is the last digit of the year, 2nd # is the month the trailer was built last 2 #s are the length of trailer. the other #s between month and length are the what I think are the build order.

Vin is on passenger side(curbside), behind the ball is MARVEL 2" for ball size, the patent is on drivers side.

Here you can see most of my Vin the 8 is still covered with paint.

My trailer is a 1968 built in Feb the 2159th made 16' long. Well....... that is my theory. 

So here is my list I have of Vins so you can see my theory but there are some odd balls in there I need more Vins to prove my theory. Or just prove me wrong. Either way I think I'm a bit obsessed. Hahaha
