Welcome to my blog about my trailer
This has been a dream of mine for over 30 years to buy a vintage canned ham trailer with birch interior. I have always loved trailers especially vintage ones.
I found my trailer at the Starlite Campground in Canyon City.
There she was Martini Time a 1968 Forester travel trailer.
She had a great layout with horrible interior fabric. But that was an easy fix.
I wasn't to sure about the Martini Theme since I'm not a drinker. But I'm not a smoker either and I have a horse named Chesterfield So why not keep the Martini Time logo and name. I'll call her Olive.
So this blog is about my adventures with Olive.
There was a torrential downpour right before I looked at trailer she was dry so I figured I was safe. Hahah, I learned later she wasn't water tight but that is a separate post.
And hopefully I will inspire you and maybe you will learn something I know I will and have.
This is my 1st trailer. I've never worked on a trailer but I have worked in construction and an automotive repair shop. so she is kinda both.
Now I bought her on a gut feeling, I was thinking I got a good buy. $3800 well......... yes and no.
I bought her and she was delivered to my home a few weeks later. The owner gave me no information on her. So Google and Facebook helped me find out about this fantastic little trailer. 1st off I found a great group of folks who love the Forester trailer on Facebook.
From these folks I have learned SO MUCH! What a great group of people so much information.
I will explain my process of restoration on this blog. You will see me make mistakes and do some damn good work. But all in all it will be fun and we will all be entertained and hopefully learn something.
