Floor prep is important. At 1st I feared I had asbestus flooring but after looking at the cracked sheet floor I realized it was a vinyl floor. lucky me! Turns out Forester used Armstrong vinyl flooring. That ripped up in big pieces due to the fact I used water to loosen the adhesive.
I used a bucket with warm water and a big sponge, utility knife, hammer (no, not my dog) and 5 way. I used the knife to get a clean edge around cabinets. I realize that the flooring was put in 1st the interior. But I'm not doing a complete rehab.
This job took me 3 days. Day 1 rip out and clean floor, day 2 cut tiles, day 3 install. Now mind you I did this after work and it was 95 degrees.

still needs to be rinsed a few more times |

SHIT!!!! Rot by door |
I discovered a bit of rot by door. I wasn't a happy camper. But it really wasn't that bad after I cleaned it all up I discovered that the floor was still structurally sound.
I tested floor all over with an ice pick.
But I can't find the photo of the after clean up.
You can see from photo that some water got into veneer so that will need to be repaired also before I install floor.
That I replied with wood glue and a syringe.

I also had to figure out how many tiles for my floor and the pattern so I figured I kill many hours doing this thought process on paper. in the end that was a waste of time.

Hammer just chillin he likes to hang out in trailer with me.

These tiles way a ton so I figured I'd use them to hold veneer in place while drying. |

Wood glue in a syringe works great to get into tight places. |
